Shipping policy

All part orders placed before 3pm CST Monday through Friday are processed the same day (excluding weekends and holidays). You will receive another notification when your order has shipped.

All custom built keyboards have varying lengths of processing/build time. Build times are listed with every keyboard. 

Domestic Shipping Rates and Estimates

Shipping charges for your order will be calculated and displayed at checkout. 

Reduced rates are available from $50 and up - and free shipping rates are available for all orders placed online that are $100 and up.

We do not collect any local taxes or tariffs for international customers. There may or may not be additional fees owed to your local government. It is the customers responsibility to know their local rates, taxes, and customs. 

Local Pickup

You can skip the shipping fees with free local pickup at our UPS Location. For more information about local pickup, please view our Local Pickup page.

Exceptions

Items with Lithium batteries require special shipping, and are not able to be shipped to some countries or areas. Due to this, some items may not be eligible for free or reduced shipping rates. Shipping charges for these items will be calculated and displayed at checkout.   

Shipping Protection

All packages are shipped via a trackable method, and you will receive the tracking number at the end of the day when your item ships out. 

Orders that select USPS as the shipping method have no insurance, and all claims must go through USPS for lost or damaged packages. You may purchase additional Shipping Protection to cover these value of these shipments.

Orders that select UPS, DHL, or FedEx will include up to $100 worth of coverage from the carrier. You may purchase Shipping Protection package protection to cover the entire value of these shipments. 

Why add Shipping Protection?

If you have ever dealt with USPS or UPS claims, you know that it can be a lengthy and painstaking process that can take upwards of 60-90 days most times. Shipping Protection alleviates that delay and hassle, and allows you to file a claim directly with us, and have a replacement on the way within 7-10 days instead of months (claims and investigation may take up to 21 days). 

What is covered?

  • Lost or missing packages while in transit (undelivered packages may take up to 45 days for an investigation)
  • Damaged items (crushed packages, water damage, weather damage, etc)

What is not covered?

  • Stolen shipments after delivery or "porch pirates"
  • Returned packages due to customer not paying import taxes or fees to their local government agencies

Shipping Protection starts when the item is shipped, and ends once the carrier marks the package as delivered. If your package is damaged, it must be reported within 48 hours of the package being delivered. Damage claims outside of that 48 hour window will not be covered. 

To file a claim, please contact us here: https://upgradekeyboards.com/pages/contact-us - we will need you to email us photos of the damaged items, and shipping box. To replace your order, we will generate an invoice for the cost of shipping and protection - you will not have to repurchase the products from your order. All claims must be filed within 60 days (for packages within the United States, 90 days internationally).  

International Shipping

We offer international shipping where available, but do not set international shipping rates, and are simply passing along our discounted rates from the couriers. 

Shipping charges for your order will be calculated and displayed at checkout. 

Your order may be subject to import duties and taxes (including VAT), which are incurred once a shipment reaches your destination country. Upgrade Keyboards is not responsible for these charges if they are applied and are your responsibility as the customer to know what taxes or fees you may incur on any shipments from The United States.

How do I check the status of my order?

When your order has shipped, you will receive an email notification from us which will include a tracking number you can use to check its status. Please allow 24-48 hours for the tracking information to become available. 

Custom built orders have an expected shipping range that the customer agrees to before adding to the shopping cart and purchasing. You may view the build time range on your original order email or via online order page, listed underneath the keyboard line item. 

If you haven’t received your order within 21 days of receiving your shipping confirmation email, please contact us with your name and order number, and we will look into it for you.

Shipping to P.O. boxes

PO Boxes may only select USPS for shipping.

Refunds, returns, and exchanges

We will process refunds within 14 days after the purchase if you are not satisfied with your keyboard parts. Custom built keyboards are built per the customers specifications, and are not eligible for return - we will work with our customers to correct something they want to change on their order however.  Switches are not eligible for return.

We can only refund/exchange up to original purchase price if the item is unopened/unused. If an item shows any signs of use, we will be unable to refund your purchase - this includes installing bumpons, soldering in switches, building/lubing stabilizers, applying band aid mods or Stab Pads, broken hot swap sockets, etc.

The refund process is started after you have returned the product to us. Upon receipt of the product we carefully check it to make sure that the product has not been damaged or used. All shipments to us must be insured, or the customer assumes all liability if the package is lost or damaged.

After a return has been received, please allow 5 to 7 days for the refund to be shown on your credit/debit card, bank account, or paypal.

  • Any orders over $20 and paid via Visa or Mastercard will incur a 4.5%+$2 cancellation processing fee. 
  • Any orders over $20 and paid via American Express will incur a 6%+$2 cancellation processing fee. 
  • Any orders over $20 paid via PayPal will incur a 5.5%+$3.25 cancellation processing fee.
  • Any orders over $20 paid via Apple Pay or Google Pay will incur a 5.5%+$3.00 cancellation processing fee.  

Due to global shortages and provisioned inventory - orders of custom built keyboards will incur an additional 15% cancellation fee if they are able to be canceled. Once work has commenced on your custom built keyboard (switches lubed, testers built and sent, pcb's assembled), or low stock parts are secured for your build, cancellation/refund is not possible. If you have any questions about this policy at all - please ask BEFORE you place an order. 

While we will try our best to process cancellations - no cancellation is guaranteed once an order is placed.
